The Challenge

Rob Frothingham had spent decades writing poetry but had no digital presence. His manuscript was complete, but unformatted and unpublished, with no clear path to getting his work into the world.

The challenge was to take a lifetime of creative work and transform it into something accessible, modern, and easy to engage with—while keeping the process simple and manageable for an older, non-technical client.

Beyond just publishing a book, the goal was to create a cohesive author presence that could attract readers, showcase his voice, and ensure his work lived on.

Key Insight

For personal legacy projects, authenticity matters more than complexity. A simple, thoughtful platform that reflects the creator’s voice can be far more impactful than an overbuilt digital experience.

Before: Decades of written work in a plain word doc, no online presence or publishing platform

After: Published book, branded identity, and a complete author platform

02

The Approach

I focused on building a clean, approachable ecosystem around Rob’s work—keeping everything simple, intentional, and aligned with his voice as a poet.

The strategy centered on three core pillars:

• Editing, formatting, and publishing the work (Amazon KDP)
• Creating a home base (website)
• Building connection (social + video content)

Rather than overcomplicating the site, I designed a streamlined, single-page experience that highlights the book, introduces Rob, and directs users to purchase or engage further.

Short-form video content (Reels) was used to bring the poetry to life, giving potential readers a direct, human connection to the work.

The Solution

Brand & Visual

I developed a simple, nature-inspired visual identity that reflects Rob’s background as an arborist and poet. The logo and supporting assets use organic tones and understated typography to keep the focus on the writing itself. Social media profiles were branded consistently to create a cohesive presence across platforms.

Web & Technical

The website was built as a lightweight, single-page HTML site designed to introduce Rob, showcase his book, and drive traffic to Amazon. The structure is simple and intuitive, with clear sections for biography, book details, and calls-to-action.

In addition, I handled full book preparation and publishing through Amazon KDP, ensuring proper formatting for both digital and print. Social channels were launched alongside the site, supported by short-form video content to begin building an audience.
